Building a Shopify page takes more than one skill: you design the layout, write the copy, adjust the spacing, and fix the mobile view. Every step takes time, and most of them live in different tools. Foxie AI Agent puts those steps into one conversation.
Foxie is an AI design agent built into FoxStudio, the Foxify editor. With Foxie, you can:
- Describe the page you want in plain language, and Foxie builds it.
- Point at any element, and Foxie changes only that element.
- Ask for a new section, a copy rewrite, or a mobile fix, and see the result on your canvas.
That is what sets Foxie apart from a tool that only generates a page from a prompt. You can keep working on the page after it is built, and everything happens in the same chat. Foxie's three jobs also give this guide its structure: Build it. Fix it. Perfect it.

Meet Foxie AI Agent: Build, Edit, and Polish Pages by Chat
What Is Foxie AI Agent?
Foxie AI Agent is an AI page builder that works by chat, directly inside FoxStudio, the Foxify editor. It looks like the chat window you already know, but every reply changes your page on the canvas. Describe what you need in plain language, and Foxie creates a page, adds a section, or edits the elements you select.

Every Foxie session runs on four things: prompts, context tags, commands, and credits.
- Prompt: Describe what you want in your own words. The more detail you give, the closer the first result lands.

- Context tags: A tag in the chat box shows what your next message will apply to.

Click the + button in the chat box, choose Add context, then pick the section or element. You can also click a section (a large block, such as a hero or FAQ) or an element (a single text, image, or button) on the canvas, and the matching tag appears automatically.

The available tags are:
- @layout for the whole page
- @section, @text, and @image for sections, copy, and pictures
- @button, @stack, @grid and @cell for smaller parts of the layout
If you don't select anything, Foxie uses the nearest supported section as its reference.
- Commands: Commands are shortcuts for common jobs. Click the + button, then choose Add command.

The detailed commands are:
| Type | Commands | What they do |
| Content | improve-writing, fix-grammar, generate-text, make-longer, make-shorter, continue-writing, change-tone, translate | Rewrite, correct, expand, shorten or translate the selected copy |
| Element | auto-responsive | Fixes layout problems across desktop, tablet and mobile |
| Element | prettify | Cleans up spacing, alignment and visual balance on the breakpoint you're viewing |
- Credits: Every request uses AI credits, and each Foxify plan includes a different amount. Bigger requests use more credits, so tell Foxie exactly what you want to change. The FAQ at the end explains how credits work.
From AI Layout Generator to Foxie: What Changed?
If you have used Foxify's AI Layout Generator, Foxie is the next step. AI Layout Generator went from beta to an official release in Foxify 5.0.0 in November 2025 and helped merchants start a page from a description. Foxie keeps that idea and adds the editing and polishing you used to do by hand.
| AI Layout Generator (before) | Foxie AI Agent (now) | Foxie AI Agent (now) |
| A layout from your description | A layout from your description | A page with layout, content, colors, and spacing |
| How you edit | You finish content, design, and responsiveness in the editor | You edit directly through chat, with no need to regenerate from scratch |
| Polish tools | Separate tools in the editor | Prettify, AI Responsive, and content editing in the same conversation |
With the basics covered, let's build a page.
How to Build and Edit a Shopify Page With Foxie AI Agent in 5 Steps
We'll follow one example from start to finish: a landing page for a vitamin C serum. The steps follow Foxie's three jobs, with the setup before and the publishing after.
Step 1. Open Foxie From Your Dashboard or Editor
Before you start using Foxie AI Agent, make sure Foxify is installed on your Shopify store and the Foxify Theme Helper is turned on in Theme app embeds. Without it, your published pages won't show on your storefront.

On your Foxify dashboard, you can start a new page with Foxie in two ways:
- Chat with Foxie: type in the "Ask Foxie to build or change a page" box, choose a page type next to "Create a", describe the page, and select Generate page.

- Edit a page you've already built: Open it in FoxStudio and click the Foxie icon at the top of the left sidebar. The chat panel opens beside your canvas, and you edit the page in the same conversation.

- Choose a page type first: select Create, pick the page type you want, such as a homepage, product page, or landing page, then describe your page on the next screen and select Generate page.

Not sure which page type to pick? This table shows what each one is for:
| Page type | Goal | What it usually includes |
| Homepage | Introduce your brand and send visitors to your collections | Hero, categories, best sellers, reviews |
| Product page | Convince a visitor to buy one product | Images, description, benefits, reviews, FAQ |
| Landing page | Drive one action for one campaign | Hero, benefits, social proof, CTA |
Our example is a campaign page, so we'll pick landing page. If you want to know what makes a campaign page convert, read our guide to creating a Shopify landing page.
Keep an eye on your credits as you work. Your balance shows at the bottom of the chat panel.
Step 2. Build It: Generate Your Page From a Prompt
A good prompt gives Foxie five things: the page goal, your product, your target audience, the sections you want, and your brand style. If you don't know where to start, choose Try an example.
Here is the difference a detailed prompt makes.
- Basic prompt: "Create a skincare landing page."

- Detailed prompt: "Create a landing page for a vitamin C serum targeting women aged 25-35, with a 15% launch offer. Include a hero, benefits, testimonials, FAQ, and a final CTA. Use a clean, fresh style with orange and white brand colors."

The detailed prompt works better because Foxie has less to guess. The quality of the page depends on the information you give, so write a detailed prompt from the start. It saves you from regenerating the page later, and English gives the best results.
Your Turn to Build a Page with Foxie
Open FoxStudio, paste the prompt and watch your page come together in one chat. Don’t have Foxify yet? Install it and follow along.
Try Foxie nowA few things to know while Foxie builds:
- Foxie may ask questions first. When a request leaves too much open, Foxie shows a few multiple-choice questions. Answer them for a closer first draft, or dismiss them with the X.

- Watch the canvas. A full page build runs through many steps, and the chat may stay quiet. The sections appear on your canvas as Foxie works.
- You can start from a picture. Click the + button, choose Attach image, and describe what you want, for example, "Build a hero section in this style". Foxie recreates the layout, color palette, typography, and spacing. It does not copy the pictures themselves, so add your own images afterwards.
- Already have a finished Figma design? Use Figma to Shopify instead. Foxie works best when you start from an idea.
One important note: Foxie doesn't save your page automatically. Select Save to keep the result. Saving does not publish the page.
Step 3: Fix It: Edit One Element or a Whole Section
The first draft is rarely the last. This is where Foxie AI Agent’s context tags earn their place, because they let you change one thing without touching the rest.
Edit one element.
- Click the element on the canvas, or click + and choose Add context.
- Check the tag that appears in the chat box.
- Type your request.
- Review the result.
For example, select the CTA button and type "Make this button orange with white text". Only that button changes. Use @button to edit a single button and @section to change a whole section.

Add a section without starting over.
Ask Foxie:
“Add a testimonials section above the final CTA, with three short customer quotes and star ratings, in the same style as the page.”
A good request names four things:
- The section (testimonials)
- Its position (above the final CTA)
- Its content (three quotes, star ratings)
- Its style (the same as the page)

To restyle a section’s background, padding, or colors, use @section. Then check that the new section matches the typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy of the page.

If something goes wrong, these are the usual causes:
- Foxie changed more than you wanted. Most likely nothing was selected, so Foxie used the nearest section. Click the exact element, check the tag, then send the request again. You can stop a run in progress, and Undo (Ctrl/Cmd + Z) clears what it already finished.
- The result isn't what you described. Be more specific about the content, layout, style, and scope of the change.
- Foxie forgot something you said earlier. Very long chats get trimmed. Repeat the important point, or start a new chat for a new task.
Pro tip: select the narrowest scope you need. It's more accurate and uses fewer credits.
Step 4: Perfect It: Polish Your Design, Content and Mobile Layout
With the structure right, polish what visitors actually see.
Prettify cleans up spacing, alignment, and visual balance on the breakpoint you're viewing. Use it when the headline, image, and CTA in your hero feel unevenly spaced.
AI Responsive (the auto-responsive command) fixes layout problems across desktop, tablet and mobile, such as overflowing text, overlapping elements and uneven spacing. To use it:
- Run the command.
- Check all three breakpoints.
- Adjust anything that still looks off.
This matters for SEO too. Google uses the mobile version of your pages for indexing, so keep your important content on mobile.
Refine your copy. Select the text, click +, choose Add command, and pick one of these:
- improve-writing to make the copy read better
- make-shorter to condense it
- change-tone to rewrite it in a tone you describe
- fix-grammar to correct grammar and spelling without changing the meaning
- translate to translate the selected content into another language
Step 5. Review, Save, and Publish Your Page
Before you publish, run through this checklist:
- Content: facts, offer details, and spelling are correct.
- Visual consistency: fonts, colors, and spacing match across sections.
- CTA and links: every button goes where it should.
- Images: you have replaced any placeholders with your own pictures.Responsive view: the page looks right on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- SEO: the page title, meta description, and headings describe the page. Our Shopify SEO guide covers the rest.

Then choose how to finish:
- Save stores your changes in the editor. The page is not on your store yet.
- Publish makes the page live.
- Schedule lets you ask Foxie in chat, for example, “Seasonal pages are a good fit for scheduling. For the Black Friday page, ask: “Schedule to publish this page on November 27 at 12 AM.” Foxie confirms the date and time in the chat, so check them before you move on. Scheduling depends on your plan, so make sure yours includes it.

One warning: Publishing a homepage replaces the homepage that is live now, so review the impact first.
Foxie AI Agent Review: Is It Worth Trying?
Hand-On Test: What Worked Well and What Could Be Better
We tested Foxie AI Agent on the landing page from this guide: a campaign page for a vitamin C serum. We built it, fixed it, and polished it, then wrote down what happened. The visual below shows the page after the Build, Fix, and Perfect steps.

This table shows each job, what we asked, and how it went. To measure credits, read the balance at the bottom of the chat panel before and after each request.
| Job | What we asked | What happened | Edits by hand | Time | Credits used |
| Build it | The detailed vitamin C serum prompt | Page generated, following the prompt | None | 8m12s | 21 |
| Fix it | Add a testimonials section and change the CTA color | Section added, button color changed | None | 2m30s | 14 |
| Perfect it | Run auto-responsive on the mobile layout | Mobile layout adjusted | None | 36s | 8 |
What worked well.
- Editing in context: You can fix small details without risking the rest of the page.
- New sections that match the page: The testimonials section blended in with the page’s existing colors, fonts, and spacing, so it looked like part of the original design.
- Several jobs in one chat: In our test, Foxie AI Agent ran every request smoothly, and each new request kept the context of the earlier ones. You skip the switching between tools.
What could be better?
These limits come from how Foxie works today:
Complex requests take longer. A full page build runs through many steps before Foxie replies, and a quiet chat panel doesn't mean it's stuck.
Long chats get trimmed. Foxie drops the oldest parts of a very long conversation, so repeat anything important or start a new chat.
Reference images give you layout, not pictures. Foxie recreates structure, colors, typography, and spacing, and you add your own images.
Foxie only does page and content work. It politely declines other questions, such as how a Foxify feature works or pricing advice. Use the docs or live chat for those.
Every AI-generated page is a first draft. Review the copy, links, and layout before you publish.
Takeaway: Foxie handled everything we asked, from a full page to a new section to a mobile fix, without manual edits. Give it clear instructions, then use your own judgment on images, final details, and a last review before you publish.

Foxie AI Agent FAQs: What to Know Before You Start
1. What Can and Can’t Foxie AI Agent Do?
Here is the short version of what Foxie can and can’t do.
| Area | Foxie can | Foxie can’t |
| Pages and sections | Build a whole page section by section, add a section that matches your page, and edit text, colors, and spacing | Set up your whole store, such as products, payments, shipping or store settings |
| Design polish | Clean up spacing with Prettify and fix layouts on desktop, tablet and mobile with AI Responsive | Cover every custom design or development need. Highly specific requirements may still need human input |
| Images | Recreate the layout, colors, typography and spacing from an image you attach | Copy the pictures from that image. Add your own images afterward |
| Saving and publishing | Schedule a page to go live from one chat message | Save for you. Select Save to keep your work, and Publish when you’re ready |
| Chat | Ask you a few questions when your request leaves too much open | Answer questions outside page and content work, or remember every detail of a very long chat |
2. Is Foxie an AI Store Builder for Shopify?
Not exactly. Foxie works at the page level.
- Foxie builds and edits pages and sections in the store you already have.
- A Shopify AI store builder creates a whole store. Shopify’s own AI Store Builder generates one from a short description.
Foxie doesn’t set up your products, settings or theme. Once your store exists, use Foxie to build and refine the pages that matter most, like your homepage and campaign landing pages.
If you are starting from zero, our guide on how to build a Shopify store with AI covers the bigger picture.
3. Can Foxie Edit a Page I’ve Already Built?
Yes. Open the page in FoxStudio and click the Foxie icon at the top of the left sidebar. Click the section or element you want to change, then describe the change. Foxie can edit text, colors and spacing, restyle a section or add a new one, and Undo (Ctrl/Cmd + Z) reverses what it did.
4. How Many Credits Does Foxie Use?
Foxie uses the same AI credits as Foxify's other AI features, and each plan includes a different amount.
- There is no fixed credit amount per prompt. The more steps a request needs, the more credits it uses, so editing one button costs less than building a full page.
- Your balance appears at the bottom of the Foxie chat panel.

- If you run out in the middle of a build, Foxie finishes the request it is working on. The next request is blocked until your credits reset on the 1st of the month, or until you upgrade.
- On paid plans, unused credits don't carry over to the next month. On the Free plan, the 20 AI credits are a one-time allowance and don't reset.
In our test, building the full landing page used 21 credits, adding a testimonials section and changing a button color used 14, and one auto-responsive run used 8.
To make credits last: select the narrowest part of the page you want to change, and write a detailed prompt from the start so you regenerate less.
Plans and credits are as listed on the Foxify page in the Shopify App Store. Paid plans include a 7-day free trial.

5. Can Foxie Build a Page From a Screenshot or Figma Design?
From a screenshot, yes. Click +, choose Attach image, and describe what you want. Foxie recreates the layout, colors, typography, and spacing, and you add your own pictures. If you have a finished Figma design, use Figma to Shopify instead.
If you are starting from zero, our guide on how to build a Shopify store with AI covers the bigger picture, and you can find more Shopify design and growth guides on the FoxEcom blog.
