Make your images pop with a focal point
In Zest version 2.2.0, you can use the focal point on a theme image - one of the latest features of Shopify.
Simply put, a focal point is the area of an image where we expect to focus the attention of the viewer. Putting a focal point on an image means highlighting the most important position of the image.
If you are using Shopify’s free themes, you can learn more about which versions are available to set a focal point here.
With Zest theme, you can apply the focal point to a variety of sections:
- Image with text overlay
- Slideshow
- Lookbook
- Collection list
- Countdown timer
- Collection banner
To bring this feature to life, you can follow these steps:
Step 1: Click images of any above sections
Step 2: Click Edit on images
Step 3: Here, to set up a focal point, just click the image or select the button Add focal point, then you can drag to adjust the focal point.
You can also remove the focal point and set it up again.
Take your design experience to the next level on Safari browser
We’re excited to announce that you can now seamlessly use Zest theme to design your online store on Safari browser. We took rigorous tests and implemented plenty of bug fixes from features such as the countdown timer and the variant picker to broken layout.
Why Safari browser?
When it comes to global web browsers, Apple’s Safari surpassed the 1 billion users mark in 2022, making it the second web browser to achieve this milestone around the world, following Google Chrome. We understand the impact of having a smooth designing experience to our merchants and a seamless shopping experience to their customers. Therefore, after Chrome, Safari is the next browser that we guarantee the performance of Zest on.
I can assure you we won’t stop here. Stay tuned for our future updates on the next web browser we’ll optimize for!
